A hard reset, also known as a factory reset, will delete all information on a device and restore the software back to it’s original manufacturer settings. A hard reset should only be done if absolutely necessary as it removes all data from your device. Follow this step by step guide on how to hard reset your LG Google Nexus 5 D820 is experiencing any of the following issues:

Step 1

 

Ensure that your LG Google Nexus 5 D820 is turned off by pressing the power button.

Press and hold the Volume Down button, for 2-3 seconds. Then press the Power Button, while still holding the volume down button.

Step 3

 

Use Volume buttons and Power button to highlight and select the Recovery option.  Use the same buttons to highlight and confirm the reset

Step 4

 

When the Android Image is displayed on the screen press and hold the Power button. Quickly press the volume up button while still pressing the Power Button.

Step 5

 

Highlight and select wipe data/factory reset by using the Volume Button and Power button. Then highlight and select  Yes–delete all user data.

Finally highlight and select reboot system now to restart phone.

Congratulations! The device has been restored to factory defaults.

 

Second Method
Step 1

Power on your device by pressing the power button

Step 2

From the Menu go to Settings.

Step 3

Click on General and then Backup & Reset.

Step 4

Find and select Factory Data Reset and then select Reset Phone.

Step 5

Click on Delete All to confirm.

Congratulations! The device has been restored to factory defaults.
