A hard reset, also known as a factory reset, will delete all information on a device and restore the software back to it’s original manufacturer settings. A hard reset should only be done if absolutely necessary as it removes all data from your device. Perform a hard reset if your Samsung Galaxy s8 or s8 Plus is experiencing any of the following issues:
- Forgot your password
- Constant freezing
- Crashing applications
- Touchscreen Issues
- Can’t hear
- Can’t make or receive calls
- Sync issues
- Sound issues
Power off your device.
Press and hold the Volume Up + Bixby + Power buttons at the same time. Release all buttons once the phone vibrates and wait for the blue android screen.
Once the Android blue screen with the exclamation mark comes up, Press both VOLUME UP + DOWN to display the recovery menu.
From the Android recovery system use the volume buttons to select Wipe data/factory reset.
Select YES on the next screen.
Select Reboot system now.
Congratulations! The device has been restored to factory defaults.
